A message to our church family

It is with profound gratitude and joy that we gather to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church— a milestone rooted in God’s enduring faithfulness and the unwavering commitment of generations past and present. This historic occasion invites Good Hope to reflect on the Lord’s goodness.

I am humbled by God’s favor to have served Good Hope in her 15th decade. What a blessing bestowed upon me as God’s chosen servant for these last 10 years. To Him be glory, honor, and praise.

As we commemorate this anniversary, we recognize that Good Hope stands not merely as a testament to institutional achievement but as a living witness to the ongoing story of divine commitment.

Let us pause to remember and celebrate the faith and dedication of those who have come before us. Their lives and testimonies have paved the way for us to commend God’s works to another generation and “tell of His mighty acts.” Yet, let us also turn purposefully toward the future, aware that our responsibility is to ensure these stories of faith continue, and the present actions of the faithful determine the significance of the past.

May we each take this opportunity to recommit ourselves to the work God has entrusted to Good Hope. Let us continue making His faithfulness known through all generations and, as Paul encouraged Timothy, “entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others,” continuing the chain of faith for those yet to come.

With heartfelt thanks for the past and hopeful anticipation for the future, we honor all who have contributed to the life and legacy of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. May God’s faithfulness inspire us to further deeds of love, service, and witness— so that the next generation, and the generations after, may celebrate milestones yet unseen.

In His Arms,
Rev. Martin Timothy Ceasar, B.A., M.A.
