Pastor Martin Timothy “Tim” Ceasar was licensed into the Gospel ministry on April 17, 1994, and ordained in August 1998. He served as pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, from February 2001 through December 2015.

Following Pastor Madison Clark, Jr.’s passing in 2015, the congregation of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church selected Rev. Martin Timothy Ceasar as pastor in December 2015. He began his pastoral service on January 3, 2016.

Pastor Ceasar graduated from the Baptist Minister’s Union School of Religion with a Certificate of Completion and a Diploma of Theology. In 2002, he graduated from American Baptist College with a Certificate of Completion. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana.

After 30 years with the State of Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services in child welfare, Pastor Ceasar retired as a Child Welfare Consultant. During his career, he served as a consultant, supervisor, court liaison, investigator, and case manager. His responsibilities included conducting child protection investigations and assessing the safety and well-being of abused and neglected children.

Pastor Ceasar’s ministry includes service in Baptist associations, Christian education, and community organizations. His leadership at Good Hope has encompassed the dedication of the Rev. Madison Clark, Jr. and Mrs. Joy Clark Fellowship Hall, expanded digital ministry during the COVID-19 pandemic, and extensive restoration after Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020.

As rebuilding neared completion, a tornado struck on May 13, 2024, causing additional roof and interior damage. Repairs were completed, and on June 22, 2024, the restored sanctuary was rededicated, celebrating God’s faithfulness through years of recovery and renewal.

In June 2026, Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its Sesquicentennial Anniversary with a month-long series of worship services, fellowship events, community activities, prayer gatherings, and special celebrations. The observance culminated on June 28, 2026, with Rev. Samuel C. Tolbert, President of the National Baptist Convention of America International, Inc., delivering the anniversary message.

He and his wife, Vanessa DeClouette Ceasar, are the parents of three daughters: Ashley Renee, Allison Patrice, and Alexis Katie. He is the proud “Pawpaw T” of Brooklyn “Brooke” Faye Ceasar, Bryson “Buddy” Timothy Ceasar, and Chloe “Coco” Rose Leger.

Pastor Ceasar’s greatest desire is to please God through faithful and committed service, to see the children of God grow into mature and healthy servants of Him, and to declare to the lost that Jesus loves them and died for them.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)
